Around twenty-five thousand households in southeastern Queensland found themselves without power on the start of the week after intense storm systems passed over the region, bringing wind gusts hitting 109km/h.
Large Frozen Precipitation and Extensive Impact
Homeowners witnessed substantial frozen pellets as large as 7cm in particular locations. Meteorological experts announced that different parts across Queensland had been hit with substantial ice precipitation.

Utility workers were working to restore electricity service throughout the affected regions, with dozens of response units working to address the numerous electricity disruptions.
Southern State's Weather Woes
At the same time, around one thousand residents in the southern state also encountered power outages after the metropolitan area recorded its wettest day in over 500 days.
Emergency response teams received over five hundred emergency reports across the region, primarily for building damage but also for downed trees and inundation.

During the peak on Sunday, in excess of 28k power users in the state were experiencing outages.
Weather Forecast
Humid circumstances were predicted to continue along much of Queensland's east this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the coastal areas.
The following day was predicted as the heaviest precipitation period, with continued thunderstorm potential predicted across multiple regions of both states.
Health Warning
Medical authorities alerted that there was an higher risk of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the state's northern country region, particularly given the ongoing climate situation.
This alert comes after previous incidents where analogous circumstances led to major medical consequences in the state.
