Over 36,000 individuals have evacuated from Sudan's Kordofan area east of Darfur starting Saturday, as stated by the UN's migration organization.

The key central region separating the country's Darfur areas and the capital region has in recent weeks become the recent fighting area in the two-year civil war between the Sudanese military forces and the militia group.

Massive Evacuation Figures

An estimated 36,825 people escaped five districts in North Kordofan region between 26 October and 31 October, according to the International Organization for Migration.

The individuals, primarily walking, moved toward Tawila, a town west of El Fasher that is currently accommodating in excess of 652,000 refugees.

Escalated Troop Concentration

Residents of North Kordofan on Monday noted a significant increase in both RSF and army deployment across towns and villages throughout the state.

Both armed factions are contesting control of El Obeid, the North Kordofan provincial capital and a critical supply and command center that joins Darfur to Khartoum.

"Today, all our forces have gathered at the Bara front here," said an RSF member in a recently shared video statement.

Area Inhabitants Report Safety Fears

A local inhabitant of Um Smeima, located west of El Obeid, described that the quantity of RSF vehicles had risen substantially since the group's capture of El Fasher.

"We ceased visiting our farms, concerned about fighting," the resident explained.

Another resident, who requested anonymity for safety concerns, also confirmed that "there has been a big increase in army vehicles and weapons west and south of El Obeid" over the last fourteen days.

World Warnings and Requests

A senior UN official sounded warnings last week about "large-scale atrocities" and "ethnic-based retaliations" by RSF in Bara.

The representative alerted to patterns echoing those in Darfur, where RSF fighters have been charged with mass killings, sexual violence and abductions against certain racial groups.

The religious leader on Sunday appealed for an quick cessation of hostilities and the creation of aid passageways in Sudan, stating that attacks on civilians and obstacles to humanitarian aid "are causing unacceptable suffering."

Sudan's diplomatic representative to Egypt on Sunday alleged RSF of carrying out war crimes in El Fasher and announced that the Sudanese government would not discuss with the armed faction.

The diplomat further called on the international community to designate the group as a terrorist group.
